I took a break from the Monster Frog Challenge because the pike fishing had become really slow. After five strikes and no decent fish landed, it was time for a change. I switched back to a standard-size frog, hoping for more action—and it definitely worked!
I had loads of strikes throughout the session, but unfortunately I only managed to hook and land three small pike. That's the love-hate relationship with topwater frog fishing. The explosions on the surface are absolutely incredible, but getting a solid hook-up can be one of the hardest parts.
Even though the fish were small, the action was non-stop, and every strike kept the excitement going. If you love watching aggressive topwater pike attacks, this one is for you!
