Pike Fishing - Approaching a new venue from scratch Part 1

Starting on a new venue is never easy, somewhat daunting, yet it doesn't have to be if you keep things simple, use fresh baits, don't get stereotyped into using one method, time your arrival at the best time of day and keep on the move.

Working of very little information I head out for my first proper session, albeit very short, yet conditions are ideal, mild and cloudy so the pike should be on the feed and hopefully I will learn a few things about the lake straight away.

A couple of fish were landed, far from big, and both falling to the same rig and bait, and it wasn't my confidence bait that did the trick but some completely new.

Hope you enjoy and it gives you the confidence to head out to somewhere new over the coming months.
