Night fishing for BIG carp on a deep gravel pit

Here, you find me on my favourite club water targeting the big carp that reside in this deep water. This particular gravel pit has an array of underwater features, and the key is to position baits on the small ledges and shelves amongst the deep slopes, so of course, accuracy is an absolute must.

The rigs and approach is simple, fishing lead clips with 3oz leads along with Darren Pecks' version of the multicombi rig. The hook of choice is the Korda longshank beaked, a firm favourite for most of my carp fishing. In regards to bait, I was using a boilie only approach with just a little bit of liquid attraction, using a market float to ensure accuracy whilst spraying lose boilies over the spot.
