It’s trout opener in Ontario, and I’m hitting the creeks of Norfolk and Brant County in search of resident brown trout! This is my first time trying this style of fishing, and it was a full-on learning experience—from reading small water to approaching spooky trout in tight spots.

After putting in the work and figuring things out, I finally hooked into my first ever resident brown trout—a moment I won’t forget! I can't thank Trevor and Kate enough for teaching me their ways, and for such a fun experience on the bank!
