After a few months of getting back into carp fishing, I decided to try something completely different - lure fishing for perch for the very first time.

I had a budget rod and reel setup that cost me less than £20, and absolutely no idea how this was going to go.

After nearly two hours of walking the canal, casting into trees, catching plenty of weed and not a single fish, I was pretty much ready to head home…until one final spot completely changed the session.

Safe to say, I couldn't have asked for a much better first attempt at lure fishing! ????
