I've always wanted to fly fish in Iceland, and I finally got my chance on a recent family trip. With only one day to fish, I wanted to make the most of it, so I decided to do something I don't normally do: hire a guide.

As it turned out, that was a REALLY good decision.

The river we fished was much more technical than I originally anticipated, and we had to work hard for every fish. Having a guide who knew the water and could help me figure out the best way to approach it definitely shortened the learning curve.

We ended up putting some beautiful fish in the net, including my first-ever Arctic Char! And to cap this off, this was my first time catching a fish in Europe.

If you're planning a trip to Iceland and are interested in fly fishing for Arctic Char, Brown Trout, or Atlantic Salmon, I highly recommend getting in touch with Mike. I had a great time fishing with him, and he really knew his stuff.
