A landowner has given me permission to fish his Private River, which is currently listed for sale at a price of £30,000! This place is relatively untouched, having never been managed by a fishing club and only fished lightly by a small number of people. I've seen pictures of big pike and big perch caught here, but loads of other species are known to live in this Lake district river. This includes salmon, roach, trout and more. We're mostly lure fishing, and we also take a trip to the neighbouring lake, Bassenthwaite, to explore the idea that the biggest fish migrate in from the main lake.
