Fishing for Fall Salmon - Oswego River Trout and Salmon Fishing

In this video I head up to Up State New York to do some salmon and trout fishing on the Oswego River in Oswego, NY. I have been fishing the Oswego River for a number of years and every once in a while I get the urge to do some salmon fishing. This time of the year the salmon both Chinook and Coho come up to spawn. You will also find plenty of rainbow trout, steelheads and brown trout in the river. The Steelhead fishing can be great this time of year and will continue for the next few months. You will have to deal with crowds just like another popular river the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY this place gets pressure but it is still fun and gives a person something to do.

I met up with an Oswego River local James who has spend countless hours on the Oswego River. He has all the right gear and knowledge and I was excited to get to fish him for the day. It took us awhile to figure it out but we eventually did. The conditions were not ideal as the days still had some high temperatures and the water wasn't as cold as we could have liked to see especially for the trout.

Who is SmallmouthCrush?

Travis Manson was born and raised where the giant Smallmouth Bass of the north live...WISCONSIN. He started fishing from the bank at a young age and spent most of his childhood with a rod in his hand. He started out fishing for walleyes and fishing in local walleye tournaments, but then in his mid 20's, he caught the BASS BUG and has been hooked every since. He competed at the highest level in bass fishing on the Bassmaster Elite Series for a number of year until he ran out of $$ money $$. This led to a move across the country to the Northeast where he got things right again and is back on track, but now on his own terms. Perhaps he will make another run at the Elite Series if the opportunity allows. In the meantime, he is a fishing guide offering trips on the Chesapeake Bay for largemouth bass(year round), guided trips for smallmouth back in Wisconsin (during select times) and trophy smallmouth bass guided trips in Upstate New York (May-November) His Youtube Channel is named after his passion for the smallmouth bass and will be used as a platform for "how-to" videos, on the water instruction, crazy on and off the water topics and vlogs on the day in the life of a fishing addict!
