In this video, I take my grandson Ethan on his very first freshwater fishing trip — out on the stunning Sabor Reservoir in northeast Portugal, guided by Portugal Predators.

What started as a cold morning on the water, with no bites for hours, turned into a memorable day of learning, persistence, and a few unexpected moments along the way. And by the end of it… Ethan had outfished me on his first attempt.

Along the way, we explore one of Portugal’s most impressive inland fishing locations — known for bass, zander, and pike — and experience the scale and beauty of the reservoir both from the water and the surrounding viewpoints.
