My first weekend fishing for steelhead in October of 2023. Unfortunately there was a drought in 2023 that lasted into the fall and prevent steelhead from being able to enter into my local Lake Erie Tributaries. We finally had some rain in late October and the fish began moving into the lower section of the creeks. With the fish came the crowds! The streams were very crowded and remained relatively low, but we managed a few fish at the end of the weekend despite the difficult bite!

I was fishing with egg sacks/roe bags on a Centrepin and Kwikfish/Flatfish plugs on a spinning rod.

I ran into a group of Russian Snaggers on Twenty Mile Creek and had to defend the few fish that were in the lower holes from them.
