Some wind in the forecast for Friday is expected to lay down on Saturday and Sunday along the coast; with temps in the 30’s and 40’s through the weekend and some precipitation (read: snow and/or rain) predicted on Sunday, looks to a tight winter window for hardcore anglers looking to score.

It’s been a stubborn pick on the blackfish grounds of late, while boats gunning for cod are heading well east to score. Mackerel have been reported thick at the Mud Hole, and good numbers of perch have kept savvy anglers well-stocked with flaky, white meals this season. As ice fishing opportunities in the NW portion of the Garden State continue, many hardcore anglers are looking to the first of February to score big on the fishing tackle and charter market.

It’s a “big game” weekend ahead - but before laying out the chips & salsa, hook up with a fish or two first on the New Jersey, Delaware fishing grounds. Plus, the editorial wager has been made between the New England edition and our South Jersey, Philly favorites.
