Visiting a typical run on a freestone river in late spring during a strong morning hatch. We are going to look at where the fish are. Are they in the bottom or the top of the run? And what is their behaviour?
Observations:
--------------------
1) The three C's that determine fish behaviour - Comfort, Cover and Calories.
2) Whitefish are often constant 'grazers', rarely stopping their feeding.
3) When trout turn on, they are usually more aggressive feeders than whitefish.
4) Generally trout will position themselves above whitefish in the water column.
5) During an active hatch, often the more aggressive fish will position themselves at the head of the run.
6) To increase your catch, learn how you can target each species in the water system differently.
Chapters:
------------
0:00 Introduction
0:30 Overview
0:45 Bottom of the run
2:09 Middle of the run
3:58 Top of the run
4:55 What did we observe (summary)?
