E242 Sailing Turkey, Then Egypt – Diving, Pyramids & the Nile

Our journey continues along the Turkish coast as we sail from Bodrum to Didim and then north to Yenifoça, exploring some of the beautiful coastline and historic towns along the way.

In Bodrum, we drop the anchor right in front of the spectacular Bodrum Castle, giving us an incredible view of this historic fortress from the water. We then continue north to Didim, a popular Turkish tourist destination, before making our way to Yenifoça.

With No Regrets safely left in Izmir, we take a break from sailing and fly to Istanbul for a few days of exploring. We visit the magnificent Blue Mosque and Dolmabahçe Palace, before taking a ferry along the Bosphorus and seeing this incredible city from the water.

But the adventure doesn't stop there.

We fly back to Egypt for a Red Sea liveaboard diving adventure. We had booked this trip before setting off on our journey, and it was one of the reasons we didn't stop along the Egyptian coast when we sailed through earlier. Stopping with No Regrets along the Egyptian coast would have been difficult and expensive, so returning by air made much more sense.

While we're in Egypt, we also take a week-long cruise down the Nile, travelling from Luxor to Aswan and exploring some of Egypt's incredible ancient history, including the Valley of the Kings and the magnificent temples along the river.

From sailing the Turkish coast and anchoring beneath a medieval castle, to exploring Istanbul, diving the Red Sea and cruising the ancient Nile — this episode takes us well beyond the usual sailing adventure.
