When the nearshore water on Lake Michigan turns dirty, don’t waste time grinding it out, get offshore. Pushing out until you find that clean, green or blue water can make all the difference. Coho salmon tend to stack in those clearer pockets where bait is more visible, while lake trout stay tight to the bottom but still respond better in cleaner conditions.
