If you are a Euro Nympher, do you actually need a Euro Nymphing Fly Line? This is a question that I get asked all the time. The simple answer is yes. But knowing WHY you need it is important (and it's not just for the competition angler).

It is well known that using a long, thin mono leader for nymphing offers several advantages: you can cast farther, fish lighter bugs, have a better connection, and improve strike detection. But there are some negatives: it sticks to your hands in the rain like a spider web, it blows around in the wind, and you have a hard time feeling it in cold weather. This is when a Euro Nymphing Line can solve those problems. It can cancel out all those negatives, so you can focus on fishing.

Understanding how to use it is important without affecting your setup's performance. Make sure you have the right amount of Euro Line coming off your reel for your average cast, but not having it go more than halfway up your rod is key.

**My setup: If my average cast is 25-30 feet, I'll cut my 30-foot leader back a little at a time, so the end of my Euro Line coming off my reel goes about halfway up the rod. Shorter casts, you'll have it to the first stripping guide. Longer casts, more than halfway.

I hope you enjoy this video, and you find it helpful.

Tight lines!
