European carp (Cyprinus carpio) are a major invasive pest in Australia’s freshwater systems. Introduced over a century ago, they’ve caused significant environmental damage by muddying the water, tearing up plants, and outcompeting native species. That said, I still enjoy catching these fish, which seem to be in every waterway I visit.
