Can You Catch Fish With Guitar Strings?

I recently changed the strings on my guitar… and instead of throwing the old ones away, I wondered:

Could guitar strings actually be used for fishing?

People have used fishing line as guitar strings before — but I’ve never seen anyone try it the other way around. So in this video, I put the idea to the test.

I take a set of old, well-used guitar strings, test their strength, flexibility and knot-tying ability, compare them to proper fishing materials, and then take them out on the bank to see if they can handle the pressure in a real fishing situation.

This isn’t about being reckless or cutting corners — it’s about curiosity, experimentation, and seeing whether something designed for music could survive a second life in the world of fishing.
