I put a giant dollar store fishing lure to the ultimate test at Badger Lake to see if it can actually catch northern pike. What started as a fun fishing challenge quickly turned into an interesting experiment as I discovered just how deep this oversized lure runs—and why it might not be the best choice for weedy lakes!

After struggling with the giant lure, I switched to one of my trusted Catch 'Em Big crankbaits, and the action turned on immediately. The result? 13 northern pike landed in this episode!

Combined with the previous episode from the same Canada Day fishing trip, I finished the day with an incredible:
✅ 28 total fish
✅ 27 Northern Pike
✅ 1 Walleye

It was one of my best days of pike fishing this season!
