Camaraderie | Winter Steelhead Fishing in Erie Pennsylvania

Winter steelhead fishing isn’t just about the catch—it’s about the journey, the bonds you form, and the memories you create. In this video, I team up with my buddy Owen and his dad Ken for a chilly fishing adventure in Erie, Pennsylvania. With over two feet of snow on the ground, icy waters, and temperatures dipping into the 20s, we braved the elements to chase steelhead in the pristine tributaries feeding into Lake Erie.

Along the way, we met incredible people like Steve, a generous Hipcamp host who came to my rescue when my truck got stuck in a snowbank. We also encountered two amazing anglers from Ohio who shared their knowledge, gear, and even their fishing spot in hopes of helping Ken catch his first steelhead.

While the fish weren’t biting for us, this trip was a powerful reminder that sometimes, it’s not about the fish you catch but the experiences you share.
