Bulgaria's Last Fishing Village - Chengene Skele by Drone

Fly over Chengene Skele in 4K - a working fishing village on the Black Sea, about 15 kilometres south of Burgas, Bulgaria. This cinematic drone flight opens above the wooded coastline at golden hour, drops down over the wooden huts and moored boats of the bay, and drifts out across open water as the sun falls behind the hills.

Chengene Skele is one of the last places on the Bulgarian coast where fishing is still a working life rather than a display. The name goes back to Ottoman times, when a village called Chingane iskelesi stood on this bay. The fishermen who work here now arrived after 1972, when the expansion of Burgas port pushed their boats south along the coast, and they have kept the same wooden landings and the same nets ever since. Three small exhibition houses in the village - Taifa, Buruntia and Evksinski Pont - hold what survives of the old Black Sea fishing customs. From the air it reads as exactly what it is: a handful of huts on a quiet bay, with the whole sea in front of it.
