Pepper is over 12 now and still loves going bank fishing, she helps me remember to take a break now and then with her. Landed my first ever 'native' steelhead on the Siuslaw (they are rare) but also had my GoPro battery die for the second time while fighting fish. My original camera battery gets to 50% and it's done, time to recycle it. I saw the adipose fin as I pulled the fish into the shallows so I stopped 'banking' it before it was on shore and let it flip back into the deeper water, the hook kicked free and it swam away...a no touch shore release.
