Adam Whittington has been cutting his boilies into discs for years – but what's the thinking behind it?

During our recent film at Blue Dart Carp Fishery in France, Adam explains why "discing" his boilies has become such an important part of his baiting approach, from creating a much wider spread of bait to increasing attraction and presenting different food items across weed, silt and uneven lakebeds.

It's a small tweak, but one that Adam believes can make a real difference – particularly when using a bait boat, where whole boilies can otherwise end up concentrated in a relatively tight area.

The conversation also turns to one of the most important – and often overlooked – parts of carp fishing: confidence.

Why do some anglers seem to catch wherever they go? How much difference do those little edges really make? And are we sometimes guilty of overcomplicating our fishing?

Adam shares his thoughts on keeping things simple, trusting what you do and why confidence can sometimes be more important than the tactic itself.
