Van az a pillanat, amikor a nyíltvízi keresgélés közben meglátsz valamit a szonáron, és egy kicsit közelebb hajolsz a kijelzőhöz. Aztán néhány perccel később már a csónak mellett robban a víz, felsír a fék, és egy gyönyörű balatoni csuka mutatja meg, hogy a légtérben is otthonosan mozog. Na, ilyenkor senki nem az óráját nézi! ????

Mostanában egyre többször találkozunk ezekkel a csodálatos méretű ragadozókkal a nyílt vízen. A történet azonban jóval a kapás előtt kezdődik: a szonárkép értelmezésénél. A testarányok és a mozgás apró különbségei árulkodóak lehetnek. Nem mindig egyértelmű, ki úszik előttünk, de ha csukára utalnak a jelek, annak az előkén is meg kell látszania. Egy ilyen fogsor elé megfelelő, harapásálló előkével kínáljuk fel a műcsalit.

Aztán jöhet az adrenalin! A megindulások, a csónak melletti irányváltások és azok a bizonyos szaltók, amelyekre még a legkényelmesebb ülésből is felkapod a fejed. A vendégek arcán először meglepődés, aztán fülig érő mosoly. Az őszi túrák olyan színfoltjai ezek a halak, amelyekről hazafelé is bőven van mit mesélni. ????

???? Örömmel látom, hogy az időjárás is szépen lassan őszre kapcsol. Hűvösebb reggelek, más fények, egyre inkább horgászatra csábító napok. A vízre jutás továbbra is kényelmes és biztosított, a csónak prémium üléseiben pedig akár az egész túrán kényelmesen horgászhatsz. A derekad pihenhet. Az adrenalinról majd a halak gondoskodnak.

There’s a moment during an open water search when something on the sonar makes you lean closer to the screen. A few minutes later, the water erupts beside the boat, the drag starts singing, and a beautiful Lake Balaton pike decides to show off its aerial skills. Nobody’s checking the time now! ????

We’ve been encountering more and more impressive pike out in open water lately. But the story starts long before the bite, with reading the sonar image. Subtle differences in body proportions and movement can offer valuable clues. Identifying a fish isn’t always straightforward, but when those clues suggest pike, we adjust our tackle accordingly. A mouth like that calls for a proper bite resistant leader.

Then comes the adrenaline! Powerful runs, sudden turns beside the boat, and spectacular jumps that grab your attention even from the most comfortable seat. First comes the surprise on our guests’ faces, then the enormous grin. These fish bring something special to our autumn trips, and plenty to talk about on the journey home. ????
