The chuck and duck setup is used for fly fishing for steelhead mostly in the fall and winter. The setup is used to fish deep holes using thin lines and a sliding weight to carry the flies down to the fish quickly. The term chuck and duck comes for the nature of lobbying a heavy weight with sharp hooks. Literally you "duck" as you "Chuck" this rig.
