The Belgian North Sea is a crucial maritime region for Belgium, serving as a hub for economic activities, ecological diversity, and international trade. Despite its relatively small size, it plays a vital role in shipping, energy production, and marine conservation.
The Belgian North Sea covers 3,454 km², making up 0.5% of the total North Sea area. It extends about 65 km along the Belgian coast, bordering the Netherlands to the northeast and France to the southwest.
In this video series, we will travel from East to West; and, in this first episode, we will fly from Knokke-Heist to Wenduine, passing through Zeebrugge and Blankenberge.
