From a 12 day solo fishing hike in the Swedish mountains.

I aim to go hiking and fishing every year, and have been doing that since I was 13 years old. This year, at the age of 40, it was time for another solo hike, the last one being 2014. Although company is nice, I feel that it always ends up being a compromise of different ideas; of what this kind of fishing trip should be about. When alone, I can decide exactly how far I would like to walk a given day, which spots to fish and where to camp etc.

Each year I aim to fish rivers where I have not been before, and the planning for next years hike is already well under its way...

I recognise that this kind of fishing is rather unique, since not many people have the kind of expertise, knowledge (which areas to focus on) or equipment required. That being said, I am happy to answer any questions about these kinds of hiking trips in the north of Scandinavia (just leave a comment below). Potentially, I might be interested bringing one or two people along with me next year...
