SOLO STEELHEADING | Camping & Fly Fishing for Steelhead in the Oregon Coast Range Mountains

In an ongoing effort to learn more about fly fishing for steelhead, I headed out on a solo adventure to the Oregon Coast Range to continue to work on casting and trying to locate fish.

Learning a new way of fishing like this has its challenges and its rewards but slowly I feel like things are starting to connect and I am starting to learn more as I go. I really do hope to be able to show other novices or beginners to the sport that you have to start somewhere and that it just takes time.

For gear I was using my @BeulahFlyRods 7wt Switch rod paired with a @HatchOutdoorsInc 7+ reel. This is a great combo for these medium sized coastal rivers and has been a great setup for learning spey casting. Especially in tighter spaces.

Having the @FourWheelCampers Fleet model camper is such a treat on all of my adventures. I like to consider it a mobile hope base. I can get work done from it but also it is a comfortable, user friendly space in which I can hang out and relax as well. I highly recommend those who are shopping for a truck camper to check them out.
