For those of you who don't know, the salmon and steelhead populations of the west side of Lake Michigan are not naturally sustaining, so the volunteers are the Root River Steelhead Facility have to harvest and fertilize eggs from these fish in order to keep the population alive. On 4/1/24 I volunteered here, similarly to what I did last year (what is in the video), but because of the extremely mild winter the run was super early, so right around the the run in tailing up with 185 processed today with a flow of 550CFS.
