Carp fishing with crazy kookaburras

Carp fishing is fun, not not always intended. On this trip, I was actually targeting yellowbelly, otherwise known as Golden Perch in the lower reaches of the Ovens River.
The yellowbelly are quite scarce in my area. In fact I have not caught one in the Ovens River for probably 10 years or so that I can remember.
So in the video I talk about yellowbelly fishing, but actually called the video carp fishing. LOL
This carp saved the day for me. Had it not been for this one stinking carp, I would have gone fishless!
But how cool are these kookaburras! The kookaburra is an Australian native bird. Like so many native Australian animals, the kookaburra is truly unique. Kookaburras feed on mice, rats, snakes, lizards etc... Basically, anything small is in danger if the eagle-eyes kookaburra is nearby.
At Lake William Hovell a few years ago, while fishing for redfin I had a kookaburra try and take a redfin off my line as I was holding it in the air trying to unhook it. He brushed up against my arm in the process.
Kookaburras can become very trusting of humans, especially around popular parks and campsites.
For me, the kookaburra is probably my favourite bird, followed closely by the ever so graceful black cockatoo.
Did you know that the kookaburra and kingfisher are related? I guess you only have to look at them both to see that, they have a lot of obvious similarities.
