TikTok is one of the hottest video-sharing apps among teenagers and young adults around the world today. Tiktok is like a virus that is plaguing the world, spreading among the society and infected almost everyone who has a smart phone. Many have become addicted thereof. Due to the worldwide catastrophe of the Corona Virus 2019 Pandemic, wherein almost the whole world is on a standstill, due to the lock downs of countries, it is the first remedy for boredom that people use. Tiktok is a Chinese video-sharing social networking service, owned by a Beijing-based company, Bytedance. It is known for its quirky 15-second videos. It is an application used to create short dance, lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. How ever, people do not know that, it has been illegally and secretly harvesting vast amounts of personally identifiable user data, and sending it to China. Tiktok gather the personal data of its users all around the world, without their knowledge and consent, which could be used to identify, profile, and track users in the United States, and other countries around the world. TikTok videos often include close-ups of people's faces, allowing the company to gather biometric data on its users. Once a user shoots a video, and clicks the "next" button, the videos are transferred to various domains without their knowledge. This happens before users save or post a video on the application. TikTok is also gathering a trove of data about its users, including their phone, and social network contacts, email addresses, IP address, location, and other information, which is a violation of the right to privacy of every individual. It uses different tactics to conceal their action of transferring user data. Even when a user closes the app, it still harvests biometric and user data.Tiktok is considered by the United States Government as a National Security Threat, and could be used as an instrument for espionage. Currently, a class-action lawsuit is filed in California federal court against the creator of Tiktok of its various violations, including violations to federal computer fraud laws, the California Constitution's right to privacy, and other laws. The lawsuit also accuses its Chinese parent company Byte-Dance of taking user content, such as draft videos, without their consent and having "ambiguous" privacy policies.Several civilians also filed law suits against the company, who are among the victims of the application. A college student, and resident of Palo Alto, California, is among the private individuals who filed a suit against ByteDance, TikTok and Musical dot l.y., a lip-sync application that was rebranded as TikTok.Misty Hong testified in the law suit that she downloaded TikTok in March or April 2019 but never created an account. Months later, she discovered that TikTok made one for her. She created five or six videos using the application, but never saved or published the videos. But, still, TikTok secretly took the videos, and her data without her knowledge, and sent the information to servers in China, according to the lawsuit. So - what! Who cares! Why would it bother me?Well, we should be bothered. Because, it is a matter of personal, national, financial, and economical security. China could use the data it collected, and use it against you - in many ways. One of it, is hacking. China is infamous for hacking. It has already hacked several important files against the United States. For all who do not know, the drone technology of the U.S. is among them, including its F-35 Stealth Bomber technology. Reports in various countries that billions of dollars have been laundered by China all around the world, it all started from hacking. Just by stealing personal data of innocent individuals. In other words, identity theft. Well you still use tiktok? Please like and share this video to alarm the people and stop this Tiktok Virus Plague. Be, an antidote!
