This is Linda Hotchkiss's second appearance at the DirksOutdoors YouTube Channel. Linda specializes in a woven fly tying technique that makes great, fish-catching trout fly patterns that are also very durable.

This is a steelhead pattern using the woven tying technique but I'd say this could catch trout just about anywhere. I plan on tying up a few for the upcoming season and giving them a try. You can change up the colors on this pattern easily enough to create some effective variations to match your waters.

Wire Woven Steelhead Hammer

Thread: Black
Hook: Daichi 1150 Sizes 8,10, and 12
Tail: Black pheasant tail
Abdomen: Chartreuse and UTC ultra wire medium black wire woven
Shellback: Black pheasant tail
Thorax: Estaz matching color of wire (red, blue, pink, yellow or green)
