went surf fishing in newport on a beautiful sunny day. wind was calm, surf was somewhat calm. when you're trying to pick the best time to go surf fishing, always choose a few hours before high tide because they bite the most during that time.

I was using my 10' salmon/steelhead rod along with a size 5000 reel. of course, the best bait for surf fishing is always 2" gulp sandworms. there's really no other bait that I use since this is by far the best bait for redtails. they last an extremely long time and will save you money in the long run.
