Here is a video detailing how to tie the blood knot which is CRUCIAL in fly fishing. The knot may seem difficult, but imagine it like two clinch knots "hugging" each other at the ends.

STEPS: 1. Cross lines, pinch in left hand
2. Take the under line, and wrap around 4 times
3. Cross "crotch" in left hand with wrapped line, pinch in right hand
4. Take left hand line, bring forward and down across pinched lines, and wrap around the left line 4 times
5. Put end of the left hand line in the loop where the right hand line first crossed (usually in the middle of the knot)
6. Wet knot, pull tag ends and lines all apart
