How to catch carp on corn kernels

Carp fishing with corn kernels is great fun. Sweet corn kernels are by far my favourite trout bait. Earth worms are an excellent bait as well, and so too is bread, but nothing beats corn kernels in my opinion.
Here in Australia, it is illegal to release carp as they are a declared noxious species. In England, and other countries in Europe carp are treated like royalty. Correct fish handling techniques are used, damp measuring mats etc...
Here in Australia, carp are removed from the water and should be killed as quickly and humanely as possible.
Just because a speciel of animal or fish is a pest, does not mean that they deserve to die a slow painful death. I usually hit them on the head, and if I do not have a strong or heavy stick I often stomp on the carps head. It may sound gruesome but it has got to be better than leaving the poor carp on the bank to die a slow and painful death.
From a sport fishing perspective, European carp are one of the hardest fighting fish species in freshwater Australia. They fight like freight trains, especially if you're using light fishing tackle.
When I am fishing for carp with corn kernels, I like to use 4lb mono-filament line and a light 1-2kg fishing rod for the sport of it.
