Grand Slam Bowfishing At Night

Come on the boat and join us for some action packed carp blasting fun! My first bowfishing experience could not have been better. UnderFortyYards partners Tom and Tony show us how it's done on this NE Illinois lake in the middle of the night.

The guys set me up for a "Grand Slam" which is 4 different species including a mirror carp which is fairly rare in our area here in the U.S. Also on tap are gar, common carp and dogfish. The average fish size was about 22lbs (10kg) with the largest being scored by Tony weighing in at 30lbs (13.6kg) and measuring 36" (91cm).

Tom's setup is a premier one featuring 2 generators and high pressure sodium lamps. The same boat we hunt waterfowl on in the fall is converted to this bowfishing machine in the spring and summer. We all use AMS Retriever Pro bowfishing setups here on compound bows that are more than 25 years old. No fancy equipment needed for this sport.

Great time with great guys, enjoy!
