Fly Fishing Small Cool Waters

This video was shot in scenic southern Indiana on a night when the air temps soared up to 80 degrees...for mid April, this was a real treat. This is a small, local stream that has cool water temps all year long and is able to produce and sustain a nice population of smallies, rock bass, etc.... I love fishing streams of this size because they are so full of life of all kinds from the fish to the many other animals you encounter while fishing. I also love to gear down...and in this case I am using a 3-weight, 8 foot rod with a floating line and a small pattern tied to match a shiner and a leech. The water was up and a bit stained...which allows you to move a little stealthier and at times can help you get closer to the big fish. The fishing was great and I hope you enjoy this adventure.
