'Erasing the winter blues' It's a few days before opening day in New Zealand's South Island and I'm joined by regular client Kresten Ovesen from Denmark. This is a departure from the norm, as we fish together as mates on this occasion which makes for an interesting and enjoyable change. There is a big storm front predicted to hit sometime around opening day but we chance it and are rewarded with a heap of nice fish on the dry fly and a few on the nymph. Day two sees us fish hard for a short half day before hitting the track with the storm not far behind...
This trip doubled as a chance to test out some of the relative merits of my various cameras - Canon XA20, Canon 5D MKII and Go Pro Hero.
