Carp fishing with a sawn off

Not many people can use a sawn off to go carp fishing. Well, not a sawn off fishing rod anyhow!
I cut a few inches off the end of this rod a few years back because long butts annoy the hell out of me.
Then, I had to add some heavy braided line to this reel so that I could lend it to a friend that does not like to use baitcaster reels for cod fishing.
The end result is a sawn off fishing rod with a trout sized reel spooled with 50lb braided running through btoken runners on a clapped out old fishing rod.
The carp did not care, and that is the beauty of carp fishing. There is absolutely no need to ever take it too seriously here in Australia.
If they get off they get off. If they stay on then even better. No need for expensive fishing tackle, and it does not matter what rod and reel you use. Use your ultra light bream and trout rod, use your heavy got rod and reel. Use an old alvey sidecast reel with 30lb monofilament line, it does not matter. When it comes to carp fishing, they all work, even my sawn off.
