Astoria is the centerpiece of salmon fishing in the Pacific Northwest. As salmon stage to migrate up the Columbia River the Oregon and Washington Coast is infested with more than three million salmon on a good year. This salmon highway is littered with Chinook and coho from June through mid September and is where we filmed this episode of Pautzke Outdoors with Mike Barksdale of Fish On Extreme. Armed with Pautzke Fire Brine anchovies we caught quick and easy limits. You'll see how you can too!
