4 mates and I had booked a visit to ACFF in 2015.

During the visit we got talking to the owner, Andy, who told us about the upcoming drain down and fish move for refurbishment of the main lake. "I'd love to see that" was my response. "your more than welcome" was Andy's response.
It was the perfect opportunity to see the stock first hand as I knew I would be returning at some point in the future. That's how I became part of the 2015 work party.

In 2016 I was exploring Italy for big carp for 30 days. The last week I was to have a trial as a guide with an English carp company based in Italy, it sounded like a dream job.
Well it turned out to good to be true, lesson learned, pocket a little lighter. But, I did meet some really good people and contacts, AKA the clients I was helping. Every cloud, silver lining!

I had phoned Andy who, as the lake was closed for works, offered me a bolthole for a few days, somewhere secure within 9hrs of where I was in Italy. My train was in a few days, I was soaked, out of food and in need of somewhere to flop out and get some R&R.

Andy and Ellen provided just that and a new PB, they even went shopping for me!! Cannot thank them enough.
