The Oaks is by far the best commercial fishery I have visited and the 3 new lakes really are something special. I intended to fish maggot up in the water at about 4m but couldn't get the fish to settle. After about an hour I decided to try the paste down the edge. I ended up with 232lb of fish all on a top kit.

I started off on the really soft paste but there was quite a bit of tow and a lot of fish moving about so the paste kept coming off. I knew I'd have to catch over a hundred and fifty carp to frame so decided to make the paste just stiff enough to allow me to gently swing the paste into the peg. The paste will stay on for upto a minute so more than enough time to catch a fish.
